Young ice hockey talent drops over 30lbs and looks to next season

As you all may be aware here at JW Training we have worked with various athletes over the past year, namely ice hockey players in particular- JW Training has been a sponsor for the Bracknell bees for the last 2 years and we are about to go into our third season with the club- We have worked with many young players to bring their games and fitness levels to the highest peak possible- We are currently in the ice hockey off season and this is a time where players move around and venture onto new clubs or re-sign for a further term with their current club. This is where goaltender Tom Annett’s comes into play, playing at Bracknell as a junior and a senior for the bees in the past- tom them moved over to the Basingstoke bison where he played and had some great success- Tom approached me in the off season and said- ’ I want to drop some weight and make sure it helps my game on the ice’ we put together a ketosis plan for him- during the off season this diet is ideal for any athlete looking to drop Bodyfat and retain muscle- we would not recommend it during the season however as players have high carbohydrate needs and it could have a negative impact on performance-

Enough of the ramble already………..how did he do? Well Tom stuck to the plan and  worked extremely hard which lead to great success, we caught up with him last week and this is what he had to say about the whole diet experience…………..

“Hi my name is Tom Annett’s and I’m 23 years old. I play ice hockey for the Bracknell Bees.

I came to Joe to help me lose some unwanted pounds and to get in shape, which I was sure due to his track record he could help me with.

-Tom Playing for his old club baisingstoke-

I have known Joe for many years, I have seen him grow from a guy I used to play hockey with into the successful Personal Trainer he is today. I know many of his previous clients and know that the results I wanted to achieve were never in doubt.

The diet Joe suggested for me was Ketosis, which when Joe explained it to me i knew it wouldn’t be easy, but with the constant support from Joe I knew I could make it work, once I got into the diet it became easy to stick to and the weight quickly started to come off, in the first week I lost 9 pounds.

Every week it got easier to stick to the diet and eventually I had more energy than I have ever had before and I actually wanted to work out and go to the gym, Joe supplied me with a work out plan to maximise the time I spent in the gym as I work 9-5 weekdays he tailored my plan around my needs.

Joe was always on hand to answer any questions I had, which in the beginning was almost every day!! Even though he is a friend I have known for years, he treated me with great professionalism and respect. Since completing the diet I have lost 31 pounds, which I am extremely pleased with, Joe is now coaching me on how to keep the weight off and to focus on the new goals I have.

I would recommend Joe to anyone; he has a proven record and knows exactly what he is talking about. He can make your goals a reality and makes them easily achievable.

I would just like to thank JW Training and Joe for all they continued support and look forward to working closely with him in the future.”
