Fitness comes first for Bees

FITNESS is the way forward according to Bracknell Bees head coach Gareth Cox as the club have renewed a partnership with JW Training and the Peak Fitness Health Club.

Cox said: “I’m really pleased to have Joe (Webb, JW Training founder and Bracknell Bees fitness and conditioning coach) on board with us and already the players have responded positively to his dietary advice and individual training programmes.

“Although we’re still over two months away from our first match, the players are determined to be in excellent shape and I’ve been impressed with how committed they are to be in great condition.

“Fitness preparation is all about individual discipline and Joe is certainly instilling that, along with confidence.

“I’m also pleased because his work superbly complements that of our club physio, Sharon Brogden from the Berkshire Physiotherapy Centre.

“They discuss the needs of each individual player and come up with appropriate exercise, diet and fitness plans. We’re lucky to have a strong, off-ice support team.”

Bees’ season ticket holders will soon have the opportunity to experience the fitness and conditioning techniques and facilities used by their favourite players, thanks to the partnerships.

They will receive two day passes to the Peak Fitness Health Club at the John Nike Leisuresport Complex as well as two free personal training sessions, courtesy of JW Training. Webb commented: “I’m delighted to be back with the Bees next season. I had spoken with general manager Stuart Robinson throughout the year about what we could do and how we could help players reach their peaks faster.

“I’m excited to be working with Gareth Cox, as we share very similar principles and attitudes towards training. He believes, as I do, that players should be in match shape at the start of the season, not just hitting the gym two weeks before.”

Jw Training is looking forward to pushing the bees forward on a successful campaign this year. Stay tuned to Jw Training as we will be bringing you player interviews and news throughout the season
